Ruckert's Store has been the shopping center for
Ellison Bay, Wisconsin for more than a century; part
grocery store, part hardware and part drugstore.
I've imagined it here on a wintry night in the 1950's
when the store would likely have been the only action
in town. Gus Klenke crosses over from his garage for a
 loaf of bread and a bit of friendly conversation.
 

We are excited to introduce a new series, " A Week in Door County". Typical of what you've come to expert from Charles Peterson, each of the images will celebrate the daily experience of village and rural life in the Midwest. We begin the 7 print series with "Saturday Night At Ruckert's Store," the first of 3 releases in 2006. You can look forward to the "Sunday" release by June 1 and "Monday" by November 1. The series will be completed in 2007.
These new prints are utilizing the " Giclee " printing process. The technology allows us to use authentic watercolor paper for  a look so much like an original that it is nearly indistringuishable.
